n HubSpot, we’ve added additional custom options to the Payment method dropdown property on the Payment object (e.g., “BACS 1200”, “BACS 3450”). However, when recording a payment from an invoice using Invoices → Record a payment, the side panel dropdown only shows HubSpot’s default/native payment method values (e.g., BACS, SEPA, CASH, CHECK, etc.). Custom options added to the Payment method property are not available in that panel.
Impact
This creates extra manual steps and increases the risk of inconsistent data:
- We record the payment using a native option (e.g., “BACS”) just to complete the invoice payment.
- We then have to open the newly created Payment record and manually change Payment method to the correct custom option (e.g., “BACS 1200”).
At scale, this adds operational overhead, increases the chance of mistakes, and undermines reporting/automation that relies on the more granular payment method values.
Requested improvement
Please update the Record a payment invoice side panel so that it respects the configured dropdown options for Payment method on the Payment object.
