Currently the business card scanner only has fields to enter contact properties when you scan a card (name, cell phone, email, title). However, it does not capture the company properties from the card such as company name, direct phone number, and company address. This has to be done manually after, somewhat defeating the purpose of the scanner. It would be awesome if you could enter both, and then if Hubspot detects that that company name already exists in Hubspot, you could tag the contact to the existing company instead. Even if you can’t tag it to the existing company, being able to read and enter those fields would be awesome!
Ya, I started using the scanner, and while it works well, I was suprised to see that this wasn’t already addressed. I still have to manually input data, even though the selling point is “less time spent entering data.”
Should be a simple fix, just allow for more input options

it is a really useful app that is let down by the fact that it limits the info you can add, be good to have the option to add this manuallys once scan taken place
I just introduced this to a client and they were surpised that this functionality was not available. They’ll still use it but as others have mentioned, not having address info meaningfully erodes any data entry time savings. Please add this feature!
Agree with this suggestion. At least the scanner should pick up the address and fill into contact’s address, as sometimes the business card address may be different from the company address.
Furthermore, with so many AI features available, why can it suggest the Company association? or suggest to create a new company? We have turned off the generating company from contact info feature, as company it creates are mostly the HQ from the domain, but very often the contact is ine a subsidiary which has almost nothing to do the HQ
Yes company name and post code are essential to us and these do not come up as an essential field
We have a custom property for a text field to enter ‘Company Name’ (different to the Company association property). It would be helpful to edit Business Card scanner settings for our profile to be able to auto-populate this text data field, so that our team can later add the company association.
I’d like to add - why is not possible to split the address properly? When you scan the card, city, state, zip code all get slammed together into the city field. The postal code still populates properly, but is duplicated in the city field as well. Please allow the user to dictate the fields if it cannot auto-detect. We do edit afterwards, but that really is a time killer when the purpose is to save time.
