Allow Saving Board View as Default per Pipeline (e.g. for Companies, Tickets)

Hi,

It would be extremely helpful to have the ability to save the Board View as the default layout for objects like Companies, Tickets, and Contacts, especially per pipeline where applicable.

Currently, every time a user views a company record and then returns to the list, HubSpot defaults back to the table view (list view), even if the user had previously selected the board view. This forces repetitive manual switching, which is time-consuming and leads to a frustrating user experience.

Being able to:

  • Set Board View as the default (either globally or per pipeline)
  • Remember the user’s last selected view
  • Or offer a “Save as default view” option

…would significantly improve workflow consistency and efficiency for teams that rely on pipeline stages and visual task management.

This functionality already works very well with Deals, so extending it to Companies and other objects would make the interface much more intuitive and cohesive.

Thank you for considering this!

Hi @PJas,

The best place for these kinds of requests would be the HubSpot Ideas section of the community, monitored by the product team: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas

Until then, opening records in a new tab is your best friend (versus left clicking and opening it). If you open a new tab (via right click and the browser context menu), the board view will stay open.

Alternatively, the board view is always just one click away via the switcher in the top left corner.

Best regards!

Came to this thread with the same problem. It’s one of the top complaints I get from my users. It’s also two clicks away. Additionally, since it’s unclear what causes it, it just feels buggy and unstable. That’s difficult when I’m trying to onboard new users who are already overloaded and not wanting to learn a new tool even if the goal is to improve efficiency.

Totally understand the frustration, especially when onboarding new users!
As Karsten mentioned, the best place to flag this is the HubSpot Ideas Forum. The more people who upvote it, the more visibility it gets with the product team.
Definitely worth posting there! :raising_hands:
