Yes to all the ideas above - I see the value in the new capabilities re: video etc but am confused by the forgotton and equally important - tracking and reporting - very limited dimensions and inability to work around with GTM + GA4 now…
So it looks like they’ve removed the iframe, but now the CTAs are still routed through a HubSpot-domain link, which is essentially trading one problem for a different but equivalent problem. Obfuscated link targets don’t help analytics any more than unreachable ones do. This still needs to be fixed.
@melindagreen it still shows iFrame for us.
We’ve put together a script that you can use to update dataLayer. Detailed instructions on our blog.
<script>
window.addEventListener("message", function(event) {
// Ensure the message is from the expected origin
if (event.origin !== "https://parent.yourwebsite.com") {
return;
}
// Log the received message for debugging purposes
console.log("Message received from iFrame:", event);
// Log the entire event data object to understand its structure
console.log("Event data object:", event.data);
// Check for the specific form submission event
if (event.data && event.data.eventName === "onCallToActionFormSubmitted") {
console.log("Form submission data:", event.data.data);
// Push the form submission event to the GTM dataLayer
window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
window.dataLayer.push({
event: 'hubspot_form_submitted',
hsformId: event.data.data.id || 'unknownForm', // This captures the Hubspot form ID
formData: event.data.data || {} // This sends any additional form data, if available
});
}
}, false);
</script>

Yes please, this looks to create issues with GA4 as well. We can see thousands of clicks in Hubspot on a pop up CTA, and almost none in GA4. From my research it is suggested that the iframe is causing an issue. Can you please sort this Hubspot team! ![]()
80 upvotes on this issue. It would be great if HubSpot could address this promptly…
WE’ve looked to add these CTAs to our website as a quick solution, only to find more problems.
Hope this is sorted soon as we cannot track form conversions using these CTAs
Hi everyone! My name is Rada and I work on the CTA product team at HubSpot.
Thanks for sharing your upvotes and comments on this idea. My team and I are actively reviewing this suggestion, and I’d love to speak with a few of you directly to make sure we’re implementing the correct solution. If you’d be open to a quick chat to share your feedback on CTAs and iframes, please DM me so we can connect.
+1, pop-up forms drive a significant amount of traffic for us and we’d love to be able to report on those conversions in GA4 through GTM tagging.
Hi everyone!

I need, please!
Hi folks, if you use Google Tag Manager to log events to GA4 there is actually a relatively straightforward solution for this: you can install a custom custom “listener” tag that makes an interaction logged anywhere on your website, including from an iframe, taggable via GTM and then pushed to GA4 as an event/key event. DM me and I’d be happy to share the custom HTML with you along with a quick Loom to show you how it works!
