Allow BCC-logged emails from team addresses to be attributed to the user who sent them

Currently, when an email is BCC’d to HubSpot using a team email address, the activity is always attributed to the user who originally connected the team email account — not the actual sender of the email.

This creates confusion in activity timelines and reporting, especially in shared inbox environments where multiple users send emails from the same team address.

It would be very helpful if HubSpot could recognize and attribute the activity to the actual user who initiated the email (even if it’s sent from a shared/team address), particularly when using BCC logging.

This would improve tracking accuracy and ensure that activities are assigned to the right person.

Hi @buxtree ! The only way for us to tell which user actually sent the email in this scenario is if they’re using the Sales Extension. We recently released a change to use that information when available (see the end of this article). Them being logged in there gives us information on their identity that we don’t otherwise have any way of knowing.
