Currently, the “Start billing terms” dropdown in line items and quotes is fixed to HubSpot’s default options (e.g., Due on signature, Custom date, On payment).
Challenges:
- Admins cannot add, remove, or rename options to reflect their organization’s billing practices.
- The dropdown often contains choices that don’t apply to many businesses, creating confusion for sales reps.
- There is no way to set a global default for this field, so teams must rely on manual selection and training, which introduces errors.
Proposed Improvement

Allow Super Admins to:
- Edit available options in the “Start billing terms” dropdown.
- Hide irrelevant options to simplify the selection.
- Set a global default that applies automatically when a line item is added.
- Optionally, allow different defaults per pipeline or quote template.
