Adding an Entertainment event

I would like to add an Entertainment event to hubspot i.e. capturing a dinner / lunch with a customer

It is not a Meeting and not a Note hence a separate category. Is there a solution / recommendation of how this event is captured agains the contact.

This is unfortunately currently not possible, you would have to pick one. If I were you, I would probably log a meeting but specify a meeting type ‘Dinner’ or ‘Lunch’. Create and use call and meeting types

This would allow you to create reports and filter for this specific meeting type.

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible, but you can create a custom attribute (e.g., “Entertainment Event Type”) in the contact record to keep track of such events. You can add this property and update it manually when an interesting event occurs. This allows you to categorize interest content and track it separately from meetings and notes.

HubSpot doesn’t have a default category for entertainment events like dinners or lunches with customers. However, you can capture these events using the following methods:

  1. Custom Activity Type (Best Option) – If you’re on HubSpot’s Sales or Service Hub Professional or Enterprise plan, you can create a custom activity type specifically for entertainment events. This way, you can log and track them separately from meetings and notes.
  2. Tasks with Custom Properties – Create a task with a custom property like “Entertainment Event” and add details such as date, attendees, and purpose.
  3. Deals or Custom Objects – If these events contribute to relationship building and sales, you might consider custom objects or associating them with deals.
  4. Tags in Notes – As a workaround, you can log the event as a note and use a specific tag (e.g., #EntertainmentEvent) to filter such activities.
