Add who deleted, a search box, a export button and "manage columns" option to Objects' Recycle Bins

Hi everyone!
I would like to suggest the following improvements for the recycle bins:

  1. Add the name or email to the recycle bin of the user that deleted an object (contacts, companies, deals, tickets, or engagements).
  2. Add a search box in the Recycle Bin (contacts, companies, deals, tickets, or engagement page) so that in case someone bulk deleted a batch of records that included by mistake one that didn’t need to be deleted, it is easy to find.
  3. Include the number of page in the Pagination Menu at the bottom to know the page we are on.
  4. Have an export button there so that we can get a document to keep track of the objects (contacts, companies, deals, tickets, or engagements) we have deleted.
  5. Add the “Manage columns” option that is available in other parts of the tool. (See Screenshot).

Add the same filters used in the index pages to restore specific contacts based on an object property (See Screenshot)

really necessary

This is a must.

Incredibly disappointing that this essential functionality was requested almost 4 years ago and HubSpot still has not implemented it.

Hey all -

Hubspot Product Manager here and wanted to chime in on this idea. Thanks for the suggestions you shared! We have been incrementally chipping away at this list and now have:

  • Added the name of the person who initiated the delete action as well as where it was initiated (ex. CRM UI Bulk Action by John Doe)
  • A search bar
  • We now also show on hover any additional emails that might be tied to a given Deleted record (this isn’t on your list, but wanted to call it out!)

There are still more improvements we can make here - but wanted to highlight our steps towards the ideal. Keep the feedback coming here though as it really does help us to push these kinds of projects to the top of the list.

Best,

Alexa

Thanks, HubSpot team, great to see the progress on showing who initiated deletions and adding a search bar! Those updates already make the Recycle Bin much more usable. One key improvement that would take this further is adding a “Deleted by” filter and advanced filtering controls on the Restore pages for all CRM objects.
Currently, we can only search by date or keywords (which doesn’t seem to pickup the integration/user that deleted a record). This makes recovery after accidental deletions very tedious and the risk of data loss is higher if a record is not restored because it wasn’t spotted. We currently waste a lot of time scanning through irrelevant results. Adding this filter would really improve auditability, save admin time, and strengthen data governance. It would really benefit both customers’ confidence and HubSpot’s reputation for reliable, scalable CRM data management.
