Suggestion:
Currently, there isn’t a dedicated permission for restoring contact records. Instead, it is inherited through account access permissions, and it is rolled into the “Add and Remove Users”.
My suggestion is that this should be separated from the ability to add/remove users, moved to the “CRM Tools” permissions category and given a dedicated permissions toggle.
Reasoning/Value
This would:
- Make it more consistent with other contact/CRM management permissions with dedicated functions, such as adding and removing contacts.
- Make it easier for account admins to find and add this permission to users as it is logically better placed here.
- Avoid giving users who aren’t account administrators, or are less familiar with Hubspot, the ability to edit other users on the account.
- As a result, improve account/user security by restricting access to the account permissions set to those who need it.
Example use case:
A user who works in a Sales position is completing sales tasks from the tasks pane. They find that one of the contacts from a company they are reaching out to has been deleted, and need to restore the contact.
Currently, that user will need account and user editing permissions to complete this task, which is generally irrelevant to their role. Alternatively, they would need to contact another user and request that the contact be re-added for them. With the suggested change, that would not be necessary.
Current CRM tools, with dedicated toggles.
