Account wide settings for Sales Chrome Extension

Ability to create account wide settings for the Hubspot sales chrome extension to control which associations are created when emailing a client.

automatically creating a new contact when an email is sent but doesn’t exist in Hubspot bypasses all our mandatory field requirements when creating a new contact.

This results in data issues as users don’t always go back and update the missing mandatory fields.

I support this, and would like to take it further to say that in general Super Admins should have the option to configure the chrome extension settings for users. Ideally they should have the ability to lock down the user settings completely, at the very least they should be able to set defaults. For example, today I can allow users to track and/or log emails, but I can’t make it the default setting nor can I stop users from turning it off if they choose. Same with never log settings, etc.

I second this, and would like to add 2 additional considerations:

- I think there is actually a bug in the chrome extension. When you go to settings > Log and track settings > default associations, the text says that ‘existing contacts’ is the default, but in practice, ‘existing contacts’, ‘new contacts’, ‘companies’, and ‘deals’ are all four in the default settings

- As @SBladeni says, the data becomes very messy. But another thing also happens: whenever we email someone who isn’t a contact yet, a contact is created and emails are logged in Hubspot. That means that if we email investors, lawyers, or any other external party, those emails are also logged in hubspot, and available for the whole company to see. Hence, it’s a SUPER URGENT confidentiality issue. Relying on each individual to turn off those setting is just too much of a risk
