Is it possible to set absolute links for the images that I use in my marketing emails within Hubspot? If so, how can that be done? Thank you.

Hey @MHudson85, thanks for reaching out!

Yes, you are able to add links to images that you add to marketing emails. If you click on the image within the email, you should see an optional URL field within the image module settings like this:

[Here is the HubSpot Knowledge BAse article on adding images to HubSpot content](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/website-pages/use-images-in-hubspot-content) as well.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the quick reply Jacob, that’s not quite what I’m asking. I’ve been using Hubspot to create email that I then download the HTML to send to a third party sender. But they need the images to have the absolute links to the HS location of the image. I realize this probably isn’t strictly how the email builder is meant to be used. But I thought I’d ask.

No problem! Ahh, yeah that definitely changes things!

As far as I know, you aren’t able to grab an absolute URL for an image hosted in HubSpot or reference an image stored in HubSpot using a third-party tool. I believe you would need to separately upload the image and store it in a place that’s accessible by the third-party tool. I haven’t personally done that before and may be missing something, but maybe another Community member will have additional thoughts!

@Jnix284 do you have any thoughts on referencing HubSpot files within non-HubSpot tools?

Thanks for the tag @jolle, sorry I wasn’t able to help sooner, but looks like @danmoyle got everything squared away! 🙌

@MHudson85 yes, each image you upload to HubSpot has its own URL. In the file manager, hover on the image you’re referencing and click “details.” That’s where you’ll find the URL for the file:

Hopefully that’s what you’re looking for. But you’re also right, that’s not exactly how the email builder is built to be used. Interesting that you’re using HubSpot to create the email but sending it through a different sender. I’d be curious about why that’s the work flow?

The third party sender is an industry publication, so they are sending to their mailing list. I use to create full emails in Dreamweaver but I’ve delegated the task to someone else and that was just too much to ask them to do. This workflow works well, other than the fact that I have to go in and link the image (using the link you mentioned above) or I have to send them the images separately and they have to link them on their side. Which is also okay but just not ideal. I was hoping there was an easy fix.
