Hi, I am wondering if anyone has found a way to make fields editable from the list view of “contacts” or “companies”. Let’s say a rep is prospecting from the list view and identifies a contact phone number that was not listed. From what I can tell, they’d have to click into the contact, find the phone number field on the left pane, and add from there. It seems like it would be much faster if these basic edits could be done from the list view. This feature would also be valuable on the “deals” list view!

At the moment it’s not possible to edit values by clicking into columns. You could submit this in the Ideas Forum!
Even without this feature, there is a faster way to edit contact information. By hovering your cursor over a contact row, a preview button will appear and you can edit the properties from the “About” section right there. (Here’s how you select which properties to show there: Customize the properties shown on records)
In the Companies and new Deals view, you’ll notice something similar. By clicking on an item, the sidebar will open. You can customize these “About” sections as well.

Unfortunately, because this is an obviously useful feature that would save customers hundreds of hours a year, HubSpot can’t do it and never will. You can submit it to ideas forum…where ideas go to die.
