Each contact has several properties including one which reflects our relationship with them - some of those relationships are more important than others, and we would like to be able to see the contact who matches some of those relationships when we access a company record For example, lets say we have 20 contacts at a company of which 1 is the IT lead, another is the clinical lead, and another is the finance lead - we would like these 3 contacts displayed in a new section on the company page, so that we can easily find the person we want rather than having to look through all 20 contacts to find the correct person
At this time, it is not possible to display a select group of contacts that are associated to a company in a section on the company record as you have described. Currently, the “Contacts” section on a company record will list the most recently created contacts that are associated to that company; in other words, any time a new contact is created and then associated to the company, it will appear at the top of the list in that section.
It is currently not possible to customize the order of this section or only show contacts with specific property values that identify them as “key” contacts
I agree completetly, and was about to send in a similar idea, before I found this one.
So I reply here with some additonal thoughts.
One of the issues we have is that we have up to 30-40 contacts on some company cards - and we dont want to remove the association they have with this company card, but they are not relevant from a Sales or Customer Success perspective.
One way to sort this is to make it possible for Hubspot admins to create an additional section (just like you have on the left side on the company/contact card), which each organization can define themselves. For example, I would create 2 extra sections:
CS contacts (existing contacts on this company relation to our customer success)
Sales contacts ( new sales possibilities w new contacts).
Naturally we (but also each user or team) would need to be able to define the order of those sections, so I can pull the most important ones highest up.
In that section I should be able to pull in contacts manually, or set a rule, that if contact property = x then this contact automatically is pulled into that section. For our sake it would look like this CS contacts includes all contacts w property Role = resposible for daily operations.
Hope this idea gets more upvotes, as it would definately help us organize our companies and contacts in a much better way, and allow us to find our way to most relevant contacts faster.
I’m a huge fan of this idea, and I think it’s an incredibly important capability when incorporating multiple organizational functions into a single CRM (as I know Hubspot is pushing to do). We want to be able to identify types of contacts and have those types reflected in associations.
Our use-case is pretty simple - As Kristiina above noted, we have some Company records (as well as Tickets for Customer Journies, custom objects identifying Implementation properties, etc) with many, many Contacts associated with them. For example, of the 100 contacts associated with a Company, only 40 might be Users of our product, only 8 might be Champions, and 2 might be Executive Sponsors. We need to be able to ensure that we’re tracking these levels of investment for various Success efforts, cross-selling opportunities, or even just identifying who we need to talk to about renewals.
Executive Sponsors or Buyers are in the same “pile” of contacts as someone who downloaded free content. It makes Contacts nearly unusable, and it’s definitely not useful for things like ensuring we have back-up contacts of the appropriate level.
