# Ability to create "Subscription" manually without a Payment link

Currently “Subscriptions” for contacts or companies are created when a [buyer makes a purchase](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/payments/buyer-checkout-experience) using a [payment link](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/payments/create-and-share-a-products-payment-link) configured to collect recurring payments, or a [quote integrated with payments](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/payments/connect-payments-to-the-quotes-tool) that includes recurring line items.

It would be great to provide the ability to create a subscription manually – for those who want to track subscriptions but do not necessarily use HubSpot to process a payment.

In our case, we want to track subscriptions for subscribers paying via invoice.

Or import existing subscriptions without requiring customers to go through the HubSpot Payment process.

Hello! My name is Hallie, and I’m an APM on the CXM team here at HubSpot. I’m happy to share that **you can now manually create Subscriptions, as well as import subscriptions!** These features are part of an update to additional features the Subscription tool now has. You can read more about these updates in [this product update](https://app.hubspot.com/l/product-updates/?update=13980262). 🙂  
To enable this feature, go to Settings \> Objects \> Subscriptions and toggle on the “Invoic Creation” Setting, as seen here:
