3rd-party calling app and own phone numbers in Chrome extension update

Hi HubSpot Community,

I’m looking for some clarification regarding the recent update: “Chrome extension now supports Calling.”

In the announcement, I noticed the following note:

“This update is available for first-party & 3rd-party Calling users. Please note: 3rd party apps must be compatible with the Calling Remote and Tab.”

Does this mean that it is possible to connect a third-party calling application that uses our own phone numbers, not numbers managed or provided by HubSpot?

I’m trying to understand whether this setup is supported and what technical requirements need to be met for a third-party calling app to work with the Chrome extension, Calling Remote, and Calling Tab.

I’ve been looking for documentation on this topic, but I haven’t been able to find anything that clearly explains this scenario.

Any guidance or links to relevant documentation would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello @KW08,

Welcome to the Community!

We can see how to enable calling in our Chrome Extension KB Article here:

Additionally it appears you’re referring to this rollout here:

That said, it looks like this is likely something you’d need to reach out to the provider of the third-party app or see if this is noted in the setup guide. Tagging in some of our Top Contributors to see if they’ve come across this yet!

Hey @CarolinaDeMares, @Anton, @SteveHTM -- Have you come across using any third-party apps with the Chrome Extension?

Thanks in advance!
