Calling and SMS

Curious if anyone has any suggestions on tech stacks.

Our organization reaches out to our clients' employee to assist them when support is needed. It is a service call, not a sales call, and I would describe it as nearly always "one-and-done." Right now we use the base hubspot version and tie in 8x8 for calling, which also includes an sms feature. We are trying to find a solution that is more inegrated with hubspot so a different program does not need to be opened to make the calls, calls are recorded to "calls" versus "tickets" and sms can be included in the same interface.

We also do mass sms messages to our clients' employees once or twice a year which we use textedly for. If we could find one service to do it all that would be the best!

Let me know if you have any suggestions on where to look.

(note, hubspot seems like they can do it with their services but the cost seems like it will be 10x what we pay today)

Thanks kennedyp! Been looking at a few solutions and I am sure if there was one, single, best solution it would not be kept a secret so might not be able to find anything perfect (aka lower costs)

You’re right that HubSpot’s own calling and SMS options can get pricey if you’re only running a handful of service calls a day.

A few integrations in the App Marketplace are worth checking: Aircall and JustCall both plug directly into the HubSpot calling interface, so you don’t need to jump between windows, and they automatically log calls under the “calls” activity type instead of dumping everything into tickets.

For SMS, Sakari and MessageMedia are pretty popular since they let you send/receive texts inside HubSpot and also do scheduled or bulk campaigns. Both have ssolid reviews and work well for “one-and-done” service calls plus the occasional mass text blast (see marketplace listings here:

For mass SMS specifically, you might also look at tools like Twilio via a HubSpot workflow integration if you want more control. It’s a bit more setup, but the costs can be much lower at scale compared to packaged apps

Another tip: whichever provider you test, make sure it supports call recording and SMS logging directly to the contact timeline in HubSpot so your service team doesn’t lose context. HubSpot’s knowledge base has a good explainer on logging and recording calls
