unable to integrate MS Teams with HubSpot

Our organization uses Office 365, and Microsoft Teams is one of our primary tools for real-time collaboration. A few months ago, we started using HubSpot and now wish to integrate it with Microsoft Teams.

However, every time I attempt the integration, it fails with the following error:
"The Microsoft Teams account could not be connected. The account is connected to a HubSpot portal in a different data hosting location."

For context, I’m logged into Microsoft Teams through the app while trying to complete the integration with HubSpot, but the same error persists (please see the attached screenshot).

I’m unsure how to resolve this issue and proceed with the integration. Any guidance or support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

This is a common issue that pops up when Microsoft Teams and HubSpot are set up in different data hosting regions.

As @DianaGomez mentioned, in the Teams app - Marketplace integration error community thread, JOKennedy added a super useful workaround for situations where you're running into the Microsoft Teams + HubSpot data region mismatch issue.

Have an admin from your correct Microsoft 365 tenant invite you -> accept the invite -> use the new Teams user -> integration will work 🎉

Hi @subrotosharma

This error usually means your HubSpot portal and your Microsoft 365 tenant are hosted in different data regions. HubSpot will only allow the Teams integration if both live in the same data center region (EU vs NA, for example).

The most reliable workaround is to have your Microsoft 365 admin invite you into the correct tenant that matches your HubSpot portal’s region. Once you log into Teams as that invited user, the integration usually connects without issue.

Both explain the region mismatch problem and the steps admins can take to resolve it.
