Hello!

We've been getting a lot of complaints about the HubSpot Shopify Native integration forcing existing portals to move to the newest version which syncs Shopify Orders to the new HubSpot Orders object. The date was May 15th and some were given 1 month extensions. If your portal's workflows, lists and reports are breaking for your Shopify Ecommerce data, then this is the post for you.

This forced migration creates a big issue for existing portals that depend on data from the deals object for Workflows, Lists, Reports and a whole lot more. Existing HubSpot customers have spent big money creating those assets, and, more importantly, testing and optimizing them.

Fortunately, our app, Unific, has the solution. Unific still allows you to sync ORDERS as DEALS and Abandoned Carts as DEALS.

This will give portals more time to migrate to using ORDERS instead, and you don't have to rush and take your own time ... or don't migrate. Up to you.

Unific plans to support ORDER to DEAL sync for the long term and Unific will also give you the option to switch to ORDERS TO ORDERS when you want.

PLUS, there are distinct advantages to Unific vs the Shopify Native integration. See Unific vs Shopify Native article. I will write a few down here:

Unific supports Shopify Product Variants out of the box. You get a lot more data about what customer bought.

Unific will let you custom map your Metafields for Orders, Customers, Products, Companies

Unific will let you map product options from Shopify into product Properties. This is helpful if you use any number of Shopify Product Options apps that provide Unlimited options.

Unific will let you custom map ANY field from your Orders, Customers, Products and Companies. Shopify Native does not.

Shopify Native integration requires Operations Hub (paid) for certain features like custom mappings - so it's not as free as it looks.

Check out our Shopify Sync by Unific app here.

Parag Jagdale

CEO of Unific | Diamond Solutions Partner | App Partner

HubSpot + Ecommerce Expert | Data Guru | B2C and B2B Ecommerce Experience

Web site: www.unific.com

Linkedin: paragjagdale

This is a super helpful breakdown, thanks for highlighting the real impact of the forced migration! Losing access to Deals-based workflows and reports is a major disruption for long-time HubSpot users. Unific sounds like a smart and flexible alternative, especially with the ability to keep syncing Orders and Abandoned Carts as Deals. The support for custom mappings and product variants is a huge plus too. Definitely worth considering for anyone frustrated with the limitations of the Shopify Native integration.

Hi @PJagdale

Thanks for breaking this down so clearly.

The switch from Orders-as-Deals to the new Orders object really does disrupt a lot of existing workflows, lists, and reports. HubSpot’s own migration notes confirm that the native Shopify app now routes all order data into Orders and that Deals-based eCommerce pipelines are no longer updated

So for portals that invested heavily in Deal-centric reporting, the pain is very real.

Unific’s approach of keeping Orders and Abandoned Carts syncing as Deals sounds like a smart stop-gap and gives teams breathing room instead of rushing into a migration they’re not ready forr

The added flexibility around custom mappings and product variant data is a strong advantage compared to the native app

And just to add, we see many teams running into the same challenge whenever integrations shift under them. That’s exactly where two-way sync platforms can help by keeping data consistent across HubSpot and external systems in real-time, without being tied to a single vendor’s object model. Stacksync.

For example, was built for this type of scenario: keeping Deals, Orders, or even custom objects aligned across multiple systems instantly, so reporting and workflows don’t break mid-project. It cuts down the “dirty plumbing” work for developers and gives ops teams more freedom in how they structure their pipelines.

Hope this helps.
