topic Re: How does HubSpot sync "Item Added to Cart" from Shopify? in Third-Party Apps

I am not very familiar with the HubSpot to Shopify integration (the app page does mention orders and abandoned checkouts), but I know this can be done through a third-party tool like n8n.io if the abandoned cart event is trackable in Shopify.

However, I think the process is rather to look for any abandoned checkout (or cart) in your Carts page in HubSpot and trigger workflows based on that information. The Cart data object in HubSpot does have a Status property (single-line text), which can be used with the integration to send information from Shopify to HubSpot.

So you would have to send the Cart status to HubSpot from Shopify first, and then you should be able to use it in HubSpot workflows for automation (i.e., abandoned checkout notification for customers, if you have the email of that user).

How does HubSpot sync "Item Added to Cart" from Shopify?

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m currently building a set of workflows in HubSpot for a Shopify-connected store, and I need to set up a specific flow for users who add an item to their cart but don’t proceed to checkout.

I know there's a default "Abandoned Checkout" status, which applies when the checkout process is started and not completed. However, what I’m trying to track is the earlier step — when someone just adds an item to the cart but doesn’t take any further action.

Has anyone found a way to capture this kind of behavior in HubSpot? Is there a property or event that gets synced when a product is added to the cart? Or would this require a custom event via Shopify or an additional integration?

Thanks in advance for your help!
