hello. Has anyone integrated a competency framework into hubspot? We are looking at a UK product called lexonis and my organisation in Sydney based.

Did you check out the new objects available in HubSpot?

There are Courses (structured programs or series of lessons, trainings, or educational modules) or Services (intangible offerings offered to customers. Examples include onboarding and consulting, repairs and maintenance, and personal care) that could be of interest.

Here's what I know about what you're asking. HubSpot is primarily a CRM and marketing automation platform. Yes, it supports integrations with many third-party tools like Lexonis. But most integrations I've seen or know of focus on sales, legal, and contract management workflows. For example, Lexion (a different product from Lexonis I found) offers a robust integration with HubSpot to streamline contract workflows between sales and legal teams, but this is unrelated to competency frameworks or HR skills management.

Since Lexonis is focused on HR/talent platforms, and HubSpot is a CRM, the two systems typically have different integration priorities. So in my professional opinion, custom integration may be possible but would require technical development and a strategy discussion.

Can you share more about what you're trying to accomplish, and how you're using HubSpot in it? Or how you hope to use it, perhaps? Maybe someone else has direct experience with your intended use case.

Thanks for your consideration. I'm looking to link self assessment with career aspirations and to the courses and resources they are to complete (all within Lexonis) to the continuous professional development area within the member hubspot portal. Through an SSO, Im looking for members to have the seamless experience of logging into their member portal and then seeing the Lexonis product. Now ideally the assessment process would talk back to the hubspot CPD area within the member portal and update some of the member details within hubspot. However it might just be the SSO that I am looking for.

Good question @AITDBen , and welcome! HubSpot isn’t really built as an HR/talent platform.

So there’s no out-of-the-box way to bring a competency framework like Lexonis directly into HubSpot. What HubSpot does give you are custom objects, courses, and services

That you could repurpose as part of a professional development or CPD hub. Combined with membership functionality on CMS Hub Enterprise (https://knowledge.hubspot.com/account-security/limit-access-to-your-hubspot-assets#:~:text=In%20your%20HubSpot%20account%2C%20click,to%20new%20content%20switch%20on.)

The main challenge here will be mapping HR-specific data to HubSpot’s CRM structure.

If your priority is only the seamless member experience, SSO into HubSpot’s portal is the easiest win. If you also need two-way data flow (Lexonis > HubSpot and back), that’s where custom dev comes in.

For context, we see a lot of orgs struggle with custom syncs between CRMs and specialist tools. Thank you for this. To update you all we successfully achieved integration via running server-side code NodeJS in Hubspot for a "Simple SSO" integration process: it encrypts some JSON and passes it to Lexonis, where through successful decryption, we extracted the user information and logged them on as that user.
