What conversations does your business have with its audience?

Every conversation has a defined start, middle, and end. When you’re using that interaction to qualify a lead, there are specific pieces of information that you’ll need to make the most out of that interaction. Much like a conversation that happens in person, you want to make sure a conversation online is structured to end when it’s appropriate.

Spend time thinking about the most impactful conversations your company has with its audience. What trends do you notice? Is there an opportunity to automate it through conversational messaging? Share your thoughts below.

The most impactful conversations are one-on-one with sales-qualified leads. You can't simulate a quality one-to-one conversation with a sales lead. You can, however, automate service calls when a customer or prospect's needs are well-defined.

Many of our conversations happen over social media, where our main goal can be as simple as delighting the customer or as business-oriented as pointing an interested party in the right direction. But our most powerful discussions occur over email, where we can may engage one-on-one, offering advice where needed, and correcting misconceptions without fear of embarrassing the individual (a big fear on social media!).

While our team is small, and we do like to individualize our conversations, automation is a possibility. With any business, there are common questions, misconceptions, etc. that come up again and again. Even a simple spreadsheet of go-to responses would alleviate the onboarding process for interns and other newcomers to our squad.

Direct messaging on socials is our company's biggest trend. We do have most of our Facebook direct messages automated. The question we get most is the sizing, fit, and quality of an item.
