Moving and adding workflows to a pipeline

Hello,

I've created two workflows for the same stage in my pipeline. One of them is currently linked to the stage, and the other is not. I'm considering replacing the linked workflow with the unlinked one. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Without seeing or knowing what both workflows do, it is very make any sensible recommendation.

Could you also clarify what you mean by "One of them is currently linked to the stage, and the other is not." - There is no such thing as linking workflows to a stage, but you might be referring to deal stage automation tab in deal pipeline settings. In which case this can be misleading.

You could have multiple workflows whose triggers relate to a specific deal stage, the important question is - are these workflows live and running.

Thanks Frank and Karsten for your swift replies. I've started the first workflow, 'Test Posting Pipeline,' currently in the initial stage, as seen in screenshot 1. Later, I decided to make some adjustments and cloned it to create a backup. The second screenshot shows the new workflow 'Is WIL a right choice?', both sharing the same trigger, and currently, both are turned off.

My aim is to use the 'Is WIL a right choice?' workflow for this stage. If it's simpler to keep the former deactivated and activate the latter, I'm open to that. However, I'd prefer to have the new workflow visibly displayed in the pipeline. Does this make sense?

Hi @NAmin3,

I'm not familiar with the interface you're sharing in your screenshot, it seems like HubSpot is running different tests on the user interface currently. Unless your workflow is very complex, it would be easiest to delete the one your circled, check if you can then associate your clone and if not, re-create it right in the place that your screenshot shows.

Personally, in a decade of using HubSpot, I haven't relied much on the pipeline automation overview. It's a nice visual aid but you may find yourself spending more time in the workflow tool anyway.

Thank you for your reply! I'm considering cloning the workflow I've circled and subsequently deleting the original. This way I can retain the workflow while removing it from the pipeline. My only concern is whether deleting the original workflow will also delete the cloned one. I kinda think it won't, but if you can confirm it that would be great!

It won't. A cloned asset isn't linked to its original and exists independently. It'll stay when you delete the original 🙂

I appreciate your response! I'm contemplating duplicating the highlighted workflow and then deleting the original. This approach would allow me to keep the workflow while excluding it from the pipeline. My only concern is whether deleting the original workflow will also remove the cloned one. I'm leaning towards thinking it won't, but confirmation from you would be fantastic!
