You're correct, UTC-5 and CST are not exactly the same.

CST is UTC-6, but during daylight saving time (which is active now), it becomes CDT, which is UTC-5. That’s why Google Calendar showing GMT-5 for Chicago is accurate during this period.

HUB may be using a fixed UTC-5 setting, which doesn’t adjust for daylight saving time. This can cause a 1-hour difference when syncing with Google Calendar.

To fix it, go to HUB settings and change your time zone from UTC-5 to "America/Chicago" or "Central Time (US & Canada)" if available. This should handle daylight saving automatically and fix the time mismatch.

This is almost always a user time-zone mismatch, not the account default.

Set BOTH your HubSpot user and your Google Calendar to the same region (America/Chicago), then resave the task.

What to do:
1) In HubSpot: Settings > Your preferences (top right avatar) > General > Language & time. Set Time zone to America/Chicago (Central Time). Don’t rely on Account defaults—those don’t override your personal user settings.
2) In Google Calendar (web): Settings > Time zone. Set Primary time zone to America/Chicago. If you use a secondary time zone, disable it temporarily to test.
3) Disconnect/reconnect the calendar in HubSpot: Settings > Integrations > Email & Calendar > Calendar. Reconnect Google Calendar after the changes.
4) Create a new HubSpot task with a specific due time (e.g., 10:00 AM) and verify it lands at 10:00 AM in Google.

Why -5 vs CST: “CST” is UTC-6, but Chicago observes Daylight Saving Time (CDT = UTC-5). Seeing UTC-5 “Chicago” during DST is correct. The 1-hour shift you’re seeing indicates one side thinks you’re UTC-6. Aligning both to America/Chicago fixes it.
