Article Editing tools are missing.

I am not sure if I have inadvertently hidden the controls. I no longer see the tool bar to add images or modify text when creating knoweldge base articles.

If you’re missing the article editing toolbar (like bold, images, links, etc.), it’s usually one of three things:

You’re in the wrong editor view. HubSpot sometimes switches to the Settings or a stripped-down Write mode, double-check you’re not stuck in a plain text field. Try hitting Edit or switching back to Write if there’s a toggle at the top.
Browser zoom or extension issue. Sometimes ad blockers or browser extensions mess with the editor, or the toolbar gets pushed off-screen if you’re zoomed in. Try a hard refresh, or open it in incognito to see if it shows up.
Permissions. If your user account has limited rights, some editing options might disappear, especially if someone changed your role.

If none of that works, I’d log out and back in, or try another browser. I had this bug once, and switching from Chrome to Firefox actually fixed it, so worth a shot.

I’ve seen this before and it’s usually tied to which editor mode you’re in. The HubSpot knowledge base has two views: a plain text “write” field and the full rich-text editor.

If the toolbar with formatting, images, and links is gone, check that you’re actually editing the article body in rich-text mode and not a metadata field like description or SEO settings (those are plain text only)

If you’re in the right field but still missing the toolbar, the next thing to rule out is your browser. Extensions, blockers, or even zoom settings sometimes prevent the editor controls from rendering. A hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R) or opening the editor in an incognito window usually reveals if that’s the cause.

HubSpot also notes that older browser versions can create display issues, so double-check you’re on the latest supported version (https://knowledge.hubspot.com/account-security/browsers-supported-by-hubspot )

Finally, permissions can play a role. If your user role was recently changed, certain editing abilities may disappear. It’s worth asking: do you still see the “Insert” option at the top bar, or is the entire toolbar gone? That detail will clarify if it’s a display issue or a role-based one.

Try switching back to the Rich Text Editor — sometimes it defaults to HTML view.
