&lt;P&gt;You can manually &lt;A href="https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/manually-log-a-call-email-or-meeting-on-a-record" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;log calls&lt;/A&gt; and notes to contact, company, deal and ticket records. In the left panel of the record, just click the "Note" or "Log" icon.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;These notes or logged calls will appear in the timeline of the record for the date that you've selected. If you want to retrieve it later, you can filter the timeline and just select "Calls" or "Notes", see &lt;A href="https://knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/customize-activities-on-a-contact-company-deal-ticket-record-timeline" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;here&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Recording correspondence with a customer</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi guys,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;New to Hubspot.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My manager has asked me to contact customers and have a breif chat about Christmas closure, and what we can expect from their orders over Christmas etc.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We want to be able to make a file note and have it attached to the customer in Hubspot.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What is the simplest way to do this? We want to replicate the way we use our physical files in the office, and make them digital on Hubspot - eg: Customer calls/we call customer - we make a file note of the correspondence:&amp;nbsp; we record the date and time, write down what the discussion was about. We put it in the customers file.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;These discussions and notes might not need follow up (like a ticket does) - we just need to record all contact and have it linked to the customer. Also open the customer file and view any notes anyone else has made.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How can we do this efficiently?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
