Hello! I have the free HS account and I am trying to have lead generation pop up on my HS when my form on Jotform is completed. Since the Lead object is not enabled, could I do this as a deal?

Hey @BrodyE,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

Are you currently using the Deals object in HubSpot? My hesitation here would be that if you are already utilizing the Deals object, how would you differentiate the "lead deals" versus your actual "deals?"

I'd imagine it may be easier to utilize the Contact object, identified by a custom property value, to identify leads filling out a form.

I'm hoping more context will help inform other Community users who might have input on a workaround for Leads.

Shane, Senior Community Moderator

Welcome to the Community @BrodyE. When you say you want the submissions to pop up on your HubSpot, how do you mean? Are you wanting a real-time notification? I'd suggest using Jotform's notifications for that. Also, HubSpot Free lets users receive notifications for certain events (like record assignment, activity on owned records), configured under Settings => Notifications. So you could have Jotform create a Contact and assign it to a specific user and they'll get notified.

Or yes, you can use Deals I believe. Here's how I understand it based on Jorform and HubSpot documentation summaries. Jotform’s HubSpot integration can automatically create new contacts in HubSpot from each submission, mapping Jotform fields to contact properties. The same integration can also create deals in a chosen pipeline and stage, again mapping form fields to deal properties, and it will associate the contact to the deal. This works on HubSpot Free, so you can treat each submission as an “inbound lead” represented as a deal in an “Initial inquiry” or “New lead” stage.

So in Jotform it looks like this: Integrations => HubSpot => choose actions “Create Contact” and “Create Deal,” then map form fields (name, email, etc.) to HubSpot properties. Then in HubSpot: Create/rename a pipeline stage called something like “New Jotform Lead” so you can clearly see these deals.

I hope that helps!
