Integrating Payfast as the payment gate instead of stripe

Has anyone here attempted to modify the payment setup when creating the default gateway? We’re unable to use Stripe in South Africa, but I can use PayPal for international clients, while for local clients, we use PayFast. Is there a way to integrate the PayFast API into the recurring payments form or use a South African payment platform like PayFast to collect payment for a meeting or something else? I understand that I can manually create invoices and include links, but I’d prefer to utilize the payment link feature and have it redirect to PayFast instead of Stripe for payments.
