Upcoming Changes to HubSpot's Product Library

Hi Community, I just wanted to reach out with an update on how the new Product Library will integrate with the product selection side panel that reps use across our Deals, Quotes, Payment Link, and Invoices tools.

Thank you with everyone that responded and reached out to me and alchan@hubspot.com with your questions on what it meant for sales reps, your concerns, and your volunteered testing and interviewing time.

Today, I'm excited to announce the next phase in our journey together - updating HubSpot's product selection side panels for reps (sales/service/managers/others). I've created a video for it here that covers how to use views as a way to filter the products that should be attached to tools based on teams and territories.

This feature is now in public beta, and please sign up in-app, test it out, and leave us your feedback on how it's working for your teams so we can continue to iterate together.

If this is the solution in lieu of providing folders as they currently exist, it seems to over complicate the process for our company's use and create too much risk for error in the quote. We have just spent an extraorindary amount of time building out and customizing our proposal system in Hubspot Quotes and this stands to destroy the entire process we have created when we are literally one week away from implementation. Is there no option to keep folders as is? If this feature is going away no matter what, we have to know before we waste valuable company resources implementing somethng that we won't be able to use efficiently in a couple weeks.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with @KGarland here. We use the product library and the quotation function in HubSpot because of the ability to create a folder structure. If this function were to really disappear, it would be a huge problem for us.

The new functionality doesn't even address the data set of line items/products/whatever HubSpot wants to call them this week. It only addresses when adding products/line items/whatever to the library for later use. This is silly. We need to use products/line items/whatever like other objects, not just a subset of an object. It has been years since HubSpot realized the limitations of making line items/products/whatever into an object subset, but you've practically done nothing about it!

Calculations in product properties? Nope! Workflows based on products, Nope! We only got access to custom properties and reporting recently, and that was to bring us into something that is now useable, which isn't saying g much.

Do better HubSpot! That fly wheel isn't churning that much lately!

Are there plans to rollout this features in other hubspot tooling, e.g. being able to view these advanced records/properties in the Deal/Line item module? Right now we we have automated our product library trough an integration with AFAS ERP (Dutch ERP Company). Being able to see proprties where u use them (e.g. quotes) would help us out greatly. I wish for the day our finance departments stops calling/correcting sales reps for using the wrong SKU!
