Customize Invoice

How can I edit or customize my invoice template? I would like to remove the line, "All fees are listed in USD and are subject to sales tax (as applicable)".

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

So you created an invoice in HubSpot, right?
Or did you use another tool (like this one for example: "Invoice Template Generator")?

If you are using the invoice in HubSpot, I checked for you, and at the moment you cannot customize the template for invoices.

I would highly recommend you to please post this product suggestion on our ideas forum here.

I'd recommend supporting the Idea with an upvote and explaining your use case in the comments.
Our product team uses that forum to collect ideas on how we can improve the product for our customers.

Product pays particular attention to the top voted ideas & takes them into consideration along with other feedback channels as well as their own vision to understand what features will be most valuable.

I also wanted to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation @Shadab_Khan, @ChrisoKlepke and @Alex_Elborn do you have a workaround to help @JHebert, please?

Hi @JHerbert,

You can create invoices as part of the tools HubSpot offers

However, if you run into any limitations with customisation of how the invoices are formatted or function, we might be able to help.

We have an App on the HubSpot Marketplace that customises invoices (& other documents) with HubSpot data. It is called Portant and it takes information from Deals/Contacts/Companies/Tickets etc (and all associated objects, like line items and custom objects) and generates invoices, which can then be generated, edited and approved within HubSpot. I need to customize the invoices to match the customization in the quotes. I need to remove the individual line item totals and only show the full total. Help!

@WesQ Yes its possible.

Navigate to invoice Settings >> Templates. Click Set Default Custom Fields.

Then, under "Edit default custom fields", click "Add custom field" to search for and select the fields to include on the invoice. A maximum of 4 fields can be added. Only custom properties can be added. Additionally, only the following types are eligible to be added: Single-line text, single checkbox, dropdown selection, radio selection, and number.

New invoices that are created will include these fields by default.

Fields that are not filled out will not be displayed on the finalized invoice.

If the custom property is deleted, the field will be removed from draft and future invoices. Invoices that were finalized before the deletion will still contain the property.

This functionality is available to users with super-admin permissions.

Sorry I was not clear enough with my question. What we are trying to accomplish is add a custom field AND display it in one of the columns of the invoice. So for example we want to add a description or notes column showing the description of the service rendered.

The solution you provided can add invoice custom field to area A, but what we would want is to add it to area B.

Let me know if there are workarounds aside from using Quickbooks because that is what we are currently using to generate invoices.

@WesQ unfortunately no, that level of customization is not (yet) available with invoices. As a workaround I would consider using Quotes which have much of the same functionality but more customization. Just keep in mind you won't be able to track due dates, balances or mark them as paid outside of your payment processor (ie: cash or check).
