Are close dates removed automatically from HubSpot Deals?

Hello,

Was there a recent update that causes Close Dates to be automatically removed when the HubSpot Deal Stages are updated?

My team started to experience this issue last week. Specifically when Deals are updated to the 'Qualified' stage, we noticed that the Close Dates are automatically removed. How can we rectify this to prevent any automatic updates to the close dates?

Hi @Jes2,

I have not experienced this issue. I recommend navigating to one of the deals that had a close date disappear and view the property history. This should give you an idea of how it might have disappeared. Sometimes things like workflows or an integration can cause things to happen unexpectedly.

My guess is there might be something located here in settings:

Thank you so much for your response!

I reviewed the property history and see that it indicates HubSpot processing. Would you be able to advise what next steps we can take in our settings so as to prevent the close dates from automatically being removed whenever we update our deal stages?

There are currently no automated workflows set up for Pipelines.

Hi @RSchweighart, after confirming with the team, this is a feature that needs to remain enabled for us. Since we cannot toggle off the following:

Would you be able to suggest what else we can do to prevent our Close Dates from being removed when the stages of HubSpot Deals are updated.

For additional context, Close Dates are removed from our HubSpot Deals when we update them to the Qualified Stage. We do have a workflow set up for this Pipeline, but it is specific to the Lead Status Property, not Close Dates.

Understood about need to keep close date toggled on. Can you check the Deal Probability configured for your Qualified stage? If it is set to 'Won', that is likely the problem. To fix, you would need to assign something other than 'Won' or 'Lost'.

Hi @RSchweighart , the Deal Probability has been reviewed for the Qualified Stage and is currently set to 10 %.

@RSchweighart I was able to find a potential workaround.

For the Qualified Stage, if we set Close Date as a required conditional stage property, this would ensure that Close Dates are not left empty since it is automatically removed due to 'HubSpot Processing.'

However, we would still like to know what we can do to prevent 'HubSpot Processing' updates. This issue came up last week, so quite unsure what triggered HubSpot's automatic updates. Are there any additional settings changes that we can look at to prevent our Close Dates from disappearing once moved from one stage to another?

Also, does it clear the close date or erase an existing close date and apply a value of today? Since it started happening last week, I think it's related to this update released on 4/1/24.

@RSchweighart yes that is right. The Qualified = 10% is for the pipeline in question.

When we move a deal from the New Lead stage to the Qualified Stage, the Close Date is completely removed. Originally, the close dates were only automatically updated on the creation of a deal and closing a deal. It should not be changing outside of these actions or disappearing at all. Would we be able to revert so that the Close Dates are not removed when the Deal stage is updated?

What does the workflow look like when you click on the Lead Status link in this screenshot you sent?

Thank you for the screenshots. That doesn't seem to be the issue.

The only things I can really think of now are checking for other workflows, private apps, or integrations but that wouldn't have 'HubSpot Processing' as the change Source, so I'm at a loss. Maybe it's a bug related to the Close Date automations they implemented on 4/1?

Have you tried reaching out to HubSpot support?
