Default value for billing start date property

Hi everyone,

I would like to know if it's possible to:

Set a default value for the "Billing Start Date" property in the line item editor. Our contracts always start on the first day of the next month so it would be great that this field is populated automatically with this date.
Alternatively, is it possible to set the same "Billing Start Date" value for all line items in a quote with one click? Our quotes have multiple products and they all have the same billing start date so it would be great to just input this once.

You can work around this by creating a custom property for your deals or quotes specifically for the billing start date. You can then use workflow automation or custom code to populate this field with the desired default value, such as the first day of the next month. This customization may require assistance from your HubSpot administrator or a developer familiar with HubSpot's API and automation capabilities.

Hi @JaviRubio,

@PamCotton is correct on her suggestions.

To add, using a third party tool such as Zapier or Make could assist with this and not really need a developer.

First, you'd need some sort of trigger such as a deal moving into a certain stage.

Then, you can calculate the date using a formatter step from Zapier.

Then, you can create the line item with a delayed billing start date:

Then, you would use the create associations step to associate the line item with a deal or something like that.

I'm happy to provide more detailed screenshots if you use or are considering using Zapier.
