Filtering if Deal Owner is not Company Owner

Hey, is there a way to set up a dynamic filter so that I can only show deals where the deal owner is not the same as the company owner? V important for us to ensure we stay on top of renewals

Hi @HWalkerDat

It looks to me like this is not possible easily/natively in HubSpot yet. Values of proporties cannot be compared in view filters or in workflows, and deals can't be listed anyway. So its not possible to check if deal owner is the same deal owner out of the box. It may be possible using a coded workflow action (Ops Hub) or an external service (i.e. Zapier).

I cam across this post, looking for a quick solution, incase anyone else happens to come across this older post. Couldn't find any direct solution and without going into Zapier, Customer code, etc. as most recommended. Simply way i done it:

Sync property at deal level: Sync the company owner to Deal property 'company owner - Works for me since first companies are basically the only ones, if not you can do it by tag and tagging primary.

Then, at a deal level, simply create a custom calculation property using the is statement of 'deal owner' = 'company owner' (the sync you just created) - if true then yes, if not false, or whatever out come.

Now you can use this as a workflow trigger, filter and so forth.
