Has anyone created a custom report filter that only shows results if two different fields share the same value?

I need to show deal count where the user ID for owner is the same as the user ID for a certain action on the deal.

The long way for me to do this is to manually select each relevant user for each filter but that means I'm going to have to keep updating the user list.

Hey @SHill04, thanks for reaching out!

As far as I know, HubSpot cannot compare values across multiple properties. You could potentially export the data into a spreadsheet and try to match it that way.

However, I'm wondering what action on the deal you're trying to tie back to the deal owner. As long as you have your inbox and calendar connected and reps are using HubSpot to log activities (i.e., notes, calls, tasks, meetings, emails), you should be able to report on those tracked activities and tie them back to a specific user.

Your custom deal and activities report could look like:

"Deal owner" is "[User]"
AND "Activity assigned to" is "[User]"
AND "Activity Type" is any of/none of "[Value(s)]" (if you need to further filter this data)

If you're looking to identify the same user across actions, you should be able to use one of the user properties above for easier filtering.

Thanks Jacob, your reply much appreciated.

My challenge is that I need the report/dashboard to show deal count when the specific user is the same, not just in the same list or group. There doesn't appear to be a solution on the filters for that so looks like export and excel is the answer for now.
