Thank you Dan! 🙏 I really appreciate your time on this. It's not quite addressing the need but maybe I'm just not using things the intended way. There are times i need to customize an existing report outside of the filters available when I view and filter. So I select Customize. Then if I select update existing report, I'm still in customization, and have to exit. And that's when it reopens the report rather than just returning to the dashboard.

I'm experiencing a barrier when I customize a current report. Once I'm done making changes and exit, it's reopening the same report which is not needed and takes time to close out. It is not a good user experience. can this functionality be removed if it was done on purpose or am I experiencing some kind of glitch?

That's how it should work. Then it goes into your reports library (Reports > Reports) and you can also add it to a dashboard.

If that's not happening, could you share a screen recording (via Loom maybe) so we can see the experience?

When you make your changes, can you "update existing report" or "save as new report" on the bottom of that report? That would save your changes.

Here's what I'm thinking:

The experience I'm having is when i actually get into the customization view of the report, not just the preview. I know you can make changes from that view and update report or save as new but that's not where I've experienced the functionality I described above.

OMG, for the love of all things holy, if Hubspot could solve this issue, it would be such a sweet little time saver. I frequently have to make small adjustments to many reports. Everytime I save the report and "return to the dashboard" it reopens the same report I just saved, as if I still need to work on it. I DON'T! So I have to close it and wait a few seconds to move on to my next report. I don't understand this functionality. Does anyone else experience this????

I’ve noticed that too. Right now, HubSpot automatically reopens the edited report as a new version. It’s meant to help you confirm your changes, but honestly, it feels clunky if you’re editing often.

What I usually do is save the changes, then jump back to the reports list or dashboard instead of closing the tab, which avoids the extra reload. Not perfect, but faster.

Thanks for confirming the experience, Albert. I appreciate the alternative suggestions, but for the way I use reports, that's not a viable workaround for me and would probably take just as long as the current clunky process! Great word choice, btw!
