Total pipeline by month

Hello. How can I make a report that shows the total pipeline by month just for our sales pipeline?

What exactly do you want to visualize in this report? The current amount for deals created in that month or closing that month? What exactly does "show total pipeline" mean for you?

Hi Karsten,

We would like to view the total value of the pipeline per month, as a stacked column. I.e. we would see a trend that the total value of the pipeline is increasing month on month.

So its a combined sum of the SQLs, SALs, etc (every stage of the pipeline).

There isn't a specific date, it's just a combined sum of the entire pipeline in that month, so lets say in February, the report would show the total sum in USD of the entire pipeline on 1st Feb, for example

Understood, thank you. This requires a Sales Hub Professional subscription and the sales analytics: Menu > Reports > Analytics tools > Sales analytics > Historical snapshots

Thank you. I am now using the historical snapshots report which us great, but it is only including some pipeline stages. Do you know how I can include all stages? (for reference, we have 11 stages in our pipeline but this report is only showing 4 of them)

Are you sure that there were deals in those stages during the chosen date range?

Yes 100%. SQLs is one of the categories missing for example, and there are many SQLs created each month

As seen here... This is a custom report. I need this and the one combined basically but can't work out why this one won't let me change the frequency, and why the one above won't show all stages of the pipeline...

Hi @OBeagley,

By default, SQLs are a lifecycle stage on the contact object, not a deal stage. If you're referring to a lifecycle stage, these will not be included.

If these are deal stages within the same pipeline, then this might be a bug and I'd recommend reaching out to HubSpot support directly.

(For deal stages in separate pipelines, you need to create multiple reports. In the right sidebar of the sales analytics you can choose the pipeline.)

In any case, this is how you would create this type of report. I'd recommend exploring the rest of the sales analytics, too!

Great question - as mentioned by another, Historical snapshots does get you part of the way there. A gap though is to see what changed between each month (what deals were won/lost/created, close date changed, amount increased/decreased, etc).

Most companies solve this by setting up a data warehouse and snapshotting hubspot data daily.

There are some automated tools as well - such as Data Parrot. 🙂
