Adding Total

So we've created various reports that we use on our Dashboards, but one feature I would like to see if a "Total Line" where you're reporting individual lines of data on the report. I know you create the report showing just the aggregated total and then click on it to drill into the details, or I have to export and do the totaling there.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if this can even be done. If not it would sure be a great feature to add! Save time and steps if it was there.

Are you referring to a total row like shown below?

If so, this can be achieved with a pivot table chart type in the custom report builder and a configuration like shown above.

Thanks, but I don't see the Pivot table option on my reports. I believe we have the enterprise level access, so I'm not sure if that is only available professional or not....

Hi @BMcGee,

Are you in the single object report builder or the custom report builder? This option is available in the custom report builder: Menu > Reports > Reports > Create report > Custom report builder

It's a custom report. But may be when the previous person built it the options to display don't fit the criteria to offer it. I'll look into rebuilding it and see if I have that option. It's a pretty simple report so it won't take long. I was looking just to modify the existing report.

Generally you should be able to adjust existing reports without any issues. Can you share a screenshot of the report settings?

I took another report and was able to adjust per your suggestions. It's the way the report was built. Really apprecitate the guidance. Thanks!

@karstenkoehler Hello! If I don't see the option to "Sum" number of contacts on a very similar chart, any suggestions? I just see "count of contacts" as an option

Does this mean that viewing something like a sum total is not possible if the data is being shown in another format such as a bar chart, line, or area?

To ask another way, is the display of sum of total tied to specific display types, or is it somehting that can be added or selected regardless of display type?
