Spread revenue for a deal over multiple months

Hi, I've been trying to find an answer to what I'm looking to accomplish. I've found similar but not the same scenarios. So here it is:

- We are a professional services company

- When we create a deal and deal value - let's say $50,000

- When I enter the deal value today I enter one lump sum value

- I want to be able to specify tha thte deal will forecast out to $10,000 in Jan, $20,000 in Feb and $20,000 in Mar (as an example)

- Is this possible anywhere in Hubspot?

- If not, is there an integration that can help?

- Last question, is there an integration between Hubspot and Harvest?

Hi Doug,

At the minute there is no way to spread deals over incremental closing dates, Have you thought about creating seperate deals over the life of the sales cycle?

I believe Zapier allowed integrations between Hubspot and Harvest.

I guess, I'm confused. You ask whether the above solution helps... but in your post above you indicate that there is no solution. The idea that I would create seperate deals for each month of the deal is not viable.

So I guess the answer is "no" the problem is not solved. If anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Agreed....multiple deals over many months isn't really an option that I'm willing to consider.

I know this is an old thread but in case someone stumbles across it - we have solved this problem inside HubSpot without an app purchase.

Initially we needed custom objects (therefore an Enterprise licence) however since HubSpot launched the Object Library, you can now achieve this with the Services object (therefore a Pro licence).

It does need some simple API work, so contact me if you need help.

Not sure if this has been answered but you can use line items in a deal to do exactly this.

On the right hand side of a deal view add a line item and drop in the monthly/quarterly payments and add the total number of payments and this will calculate the total deal amount. You can report on the unit price for forecasted rev rec.

You can add that data in @KHawgood3, and you are right that it will update the deal amount, ARR, TCV etc. However there is no way I know of to plot the revenue arriving in the future in the relevant months. Even less so if the revenue isn't the same every month/quarter etc. For these use cases you need to do some API work, which is what we have done for several customers.

If anyone knows a way to do this natively - i.e. proper Revenue forecasting (not order intake forecasting) then please enlighten me!

I was able to find this related discussion from the RevOps Discussion Board where @HubDoPete and @johnelmer offer some advice on how to track variable MRR within HubSpot and with integrations.

With that being said, if this functionality is something you'd like to see implemented in Hubspot, I would also recommend to create an idea on our ideas forum as well.
