Hey @TLarson5 ,

I got your query - here are the workarounds you can use:
Here's a clearer, step-by-step breakdown of how you can build that reports:

Step1: Before you can report on your goals, you need create the goal
Navigate to Settings → Properties. Choose the Deals object. Click Create Property to build these custom field- dont edit or rephase

step 2-Annual Goal: Create a Number/Currency field and name it something like "Annual Revenue Target." This is where you'll manually enter your $ goal for the year (e.g., $1,000,000).

step 3 -Go to Reports → Reports and select Create Custom Report. Choose Single Object and select Deals as your data source. Configure Your Data: What you're tracking The Deal Amount (your actual revenue). The filter: Crucially, set the Close Date to "This Year" and the Deal Stage to "Closed Won." The goal: Include your custom "Annual Revenue Target" property

Step 4 -Create Quarterly Reports: Clone your annual report, update the Close Date filter to the specific quarter (Q1: Jan–Mar, Q2: Apr–Jun, etc.), swap in the corresponding quarterly goal property, and repeat for all four quarters; optionally, use “This Quarter” or “Last Quarter” filters for rolling reports.

Even @STierney ,has shared a helpful link on how to create goals and revenue reports in HubSpot — you can check it out for detailed guidance.

I would suggest creating separate reports for annual and quarterly goals, as this makes it much easier to track progress and analyze performance at a glance.

I hope this explanation makes things clearer! If it resolves your issue, kindly mark it as the accepted solution and give it an upvote - this helps other community members facing the same challenge find it more easily.

Hi everyone,

This has probably been asked before, but I was struggling on finding a community post on it, so apologies if that is the case.

Basically, I'm trying to figure out how I can set up a report to track 2 things:

1. Current revenue against annual goal.

2. Same concept but tracked against quarterly goals/targets.

I can't quite figure this out, so any help here would be much appreciated.

I believe that is something that could fit your use case. The goals feature can help you set quarterly/yearly/weekly goals and then help you keep track of these goals while also showing you how each sales rep is contributing towards that goal.

You can find it under Reporting > Goals.

@STierney & @Nishant_Gupta -

First of all - thanks so much for the quick replies. I do have some follow up questions:

So there is no way to do this without a custom property where I set up my "Annual Goal" - that right? I, ideally, would like to use all out-of-the-box fields/uses where I can to limit the customization of my HS isntacne. I don't want to overbuild my instance and therefore introduce unecessary complexity.

If I must create custom properties, should I create a Q1, Q2,Q3, Q4 property? I ask becuase in @Nishant_Gupta 's respons it appears as though you're suggesting just update the closed date, but what if I have different quarterly targets - in your reply it looks like you may be makeing the assumption that the Quarterly Target is 25% of the Yearly Target. However, what if that isn't the case. What if:
    - Q1 we want to target 30% of Annual Target
    - Q2 target 33% Annual Target
    - Q3 target 20%
    - Q4 17% of Annual Target

In all the research I've done around Goals it seems that they are tied to an individual. Is it possible to set them up without tying them to a person? I don't want to be sending emails to a sales rep when the Quarter's or Yearly's goal has been met. It's unecessary. I understand that setting up the goals is probably the best way to get this project going.

Appreaciate the help!

If you're unable to figure this out in HubSpot, you could set this up with Coefficient pretty quickly. Transparently, I do work for the team.

With Coefficient’s certified 2-way sync between HubSpot and Google Sheets or Excel, you can pull in your deals and revenue data, set it on a refresh schedule, report on it in Google Sheets / Excel, and then embed the report back into your HubSpot dashboard.

You'd:

Connect HubSpot to Sheets/Excel

Install Coefficient, connect your HubSpot account, and pull in deals with fields like Deal Stage, Close Date, and Amount.

Set up your targets

Add your annual and quarterly revenue goals in a simple table.

Build the comparisons

Use spreadsheet formulas to calculate:

Current revenue (Closed Won deals, filtered by date).

Goal vs. actual progress (percentage completion).

If you’re in Google Sheets, Coefficient’s Sheets Assistant can generate these formulas or charts for you automatically.

Make it visual

Create progress bars or charts that show revenue vs. goal for both annual and quarterly targets.

Automate it

Schedule the HubSpot import to refresh daily, weekly, or hourly so your dashboard is always up-to-date.

Optional: Embed back into HubSpot

If you want to see these charts inside HubSpot dashboards, publish them from Google Sheets and embed them using HubSpot’s “Other content” widget.

We do have an out of the box sales to target report template that you could sync your data into as well.
