Is there a way to only send a report when there is at least one result?

I have an exceptions report I've produced of unactioned leads from the day before. I have this scheduled to go out each morning.

However, the report goes out whether there are any lines or not which is diluting its effect for the end users.

Is there a way to trigger a report from a workflow or alternatively a way to set a scheduled report to only send to the recipients when there's something to show in it?

No, such a setting does currently not exist. You could request it in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community, reviewed by the product team: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas

Personally, I like empty reports/dashboards. Receiving an empty email is also information in itself, telling me both that everything is working as expected and nothing needs to be done.

I'm the same, I'm happy receiving empty reports, however my directors have asked to only get the report when there's something they need to know about.

I suspected the answer would be this! I'll go back to them and let them know it's not possible right now.

Hey @TM-OML,

HubSpot reports are a great way to provide an overall view of aggregated data—but that doesn’t always lead to action. Sales teams are often tied up during delivery phases, so these reports can easily be overlooked or buried in inboxes.

I’ve found it more effective to use dashboards during our weekly stand-ups, broken down by owner so it’s visible to everyone. Alongside that, we use workflows to assign tasks and send follow-up reminders for leads, which helps drive action more reliably.

Just thought I’d share an alternative approach that’s worked well for us!
