"number of associated deals" property but only counting deals in current cal year

Hi all. I've been using the "number of associated deals" property to highlight priority contacts we've worked with before on our company dashboards.

This is a little too broad, however. I really need a second option: "Number of associated deals with a close data in current calender year". Could someone advise the best way to do this? Rollup field options won't allow me to filter by close date.

I can't restrict the report by close date - I want to see ALL contacts associated with the company, whether they're associated with a deal or not, but I want to see the current cal year deal count per contact.

Hi @JPittam,

A roll-up property is the correct approach here - but you need an assisting custom property and workflow for the condition:

Create a custom property, e.g. dropdown property "Close date (Year)" with options 2025, 2026, etc
Create a deal-based workflow that enrolls closed deals, then branches by close date, then uses "Edit record" workflow action to update property from step 1
Use property from step 1 as a condition in the roll-up property

Ah sorry - was mixed up between two posts. Just trying this now but I'm not able to branch by Close Date (says is incompatible) - any suggestion?
