Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a way to better categorize meetings in HubSpot. Right now, I can’t easily distinguish between intro meetings, follow-up meetings, and non-commercial meetings. For example, we run workshops that sometimes include target accounts, but these aren’t commercial meetings and shouldn’t be counted as prospecting, even though prospects are involved.

Is there a way to align sales stages with meeting types and clearly differentiate commercial from non-commercial meetings? Has anyone found a good workaround for this?

Would love to hear how others are handling this! Thanks in advance.

Hi @TVaz,

Could you explain this in more detail?

@TVaz wrote:

What exactly are you referring to when you say sales stages? What exactly would you want to work around?

Best regards

Hi Karsten,

Thank you for your prompt reply. First, we need to track and report the number of intro meetings, demo meetings, and follow-up meetings. Second, since we sometimes hold industry workshop meetings that are unrelated to prospecting, I want to exclude those from my report. It would be helpful to have a “Meeting Type” field that I can use as a filter in my report. However, I currently don’t see a way to implement this. Thank you!

@TVaz the reporting part can be done with HubSpot reporting tools, selecting activities/meetings as a report data source: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-custom-reports

For those industry workshops, either you create a separate meeting type for that (which would allow you in reports to filter for all meetings where meeting type is none of that new one) or you simply don't add a meeting type to those industry workshop and keep the field empty (in which case you would only filter for meetings where type is known in your reports).
