Help!! Report by lead type

Not actual leads, I am working with contacts.
I have three lead types, "membership" "bt" and "events"
I want to know how many of them are, if they are engaged, the number of conversions.

How can I go about this? total newbie.

If you're completely new to this, I'd recommend reviewing the documentation first:

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-custom-reports (you want to focus on single object and funnel reports here)
https://academy.hubspot.com/courses/hubspot-reporting

Generally, the approach would be as follows:

Create a single object contact report
Make sure your date filters are for all time
Drag and drop 'Count of contacts' and your lead type property into the visualization
Choose a suitable chart type

Have a look at the documentation and these steps and let me know where / if you're getting stuck.

Hey Karsten,

Thanks for the reply, we have three lead types, but are not actually using leads on hubspot, we have "membership" bt" and "events" I created a dashboard for each one of these, and used the "list membership" property, but Im afraid everytime I get leads and want to run these reports I have to go back and add every lead list to every report

Is there a simpler way to do this?

@USotomayor there's no need to use lists here – have you tried to follow the instructions from my previous reply?

I did!
But we are not using leads only contacts and putting them in lists.

The other problem with this method is I'd have to go back and add every new list to every report every time.

@USotomayor can you please go back and read my replies carefully? Neither did I suggest working or reporting on the lead object, nor did I mention list membership.

what would be my "Lead type property"?

Basically I get leads every week and I import those into my lists.
Some are for membership some for a course, they do not share any property that I know of in hubspot.

If you do not have this yet, you would have to create one and start maintaining yet. It sounded like you had a property already to categorize your contacts? https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/create-and-edit-properties

Is there any way I can maybe import these leads with a custom property or apply it to them and then make the report use that?

@USotomayor yes, you would first create that property (see the link I shared), then you could either bulk update these records or import a file that has your lead type for each contact: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/bulk-edit-records

This was super helpful.
I created the property and assigned it to some contacts.
I created a single object report with no problem at all.

But I wanted to have count of calls, meetings and sales emails.
I tried to create a custom one using "contacts" (the property is in contact information) and "activities" but my custom property doesn't show up.

@USotomayor for calls, emails, meetings, you would create a custom report and add data sources for contacts and activities: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-reports-with-the-custom-report-builder

Under activities, you'll find 'Activity type' which you can use to specify call, email, meeting.
