Hi, colleagues,

I need help accessing the data in HubSpot in the past (snapshot), meaning, for example, seeing the number of open deals last year in the Land pipeline in November.

I can do it for the current year, but when I set up filters to compare to a previous year, it shows incorrect data (because the statuses of Delas obviously changed to Lost or acquired during this year). How can I make it work? I need to set up a data range and see the statuses Deals had one year ago, not considering what those statuses are now.

The same goes for the total value of companies in the pipeline (ARR sum). The goal is to show investors the value (sum ARR) of companies in the Deals pipeline. I use a Custom Builder report for this and two properties: Companies and Deals, meaning for Y - Sum Annual Revenue and X - Created Deal Date (aiming to get the ARR of the company and add it to this quarter - once the deal was created) to compare quarter to quarter. Filters are ARR known; Pipeline is Land, Deal Stage, and excl. Lost and Acquired. The desired outcome is to see, based on the Open Deals now in the Land pipeline - associated companies with deals and their ARR sum q by q based on how many we had each quarter and compare to what we had last year at the same time to see the difference and trend.

Thanks.

Hi @ISmolin,

This is currently only possible via the 'Historical snapshots' report in the sales analytics section of HubSpot: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-sales-reports-with-the-sales-reports-analytics-tool

Custom reports will always only show the current state of records.

Best regards!

I doubt it can be used to show companies' ARR as part of the exercise connected to the Deals stage, as there are no such filters there. There is ARR, but it is associated with the Deal, not the Company, as the type of filter I am looking for. Does it mean we should have ARR company property created for each deal to complete this exercise?

Good one, but not smth will help in our case @karstenkoehler 🙂 If we can refer to a query that will help to create such a report, it will be: please take the report with open deals (historical snapshots) - with frequency - quarterly and associate companies' ARR - company annual revenue - estimated revenue (not deal's ones - it is different) with each deal that is open and reflect it in the report, meaning if the deal is open in Q1 and Q2 - we will see company's ARR associated with this deal in Q1 and Q2. As a result, we will see quarter by quarter the Company's annual revenue associated with open deals during the year as a sum that will show the trend related to the company's annual revenue - quarter to quarter. Then the same applies to last year's comparison analysis. The feature that was mentioned by you and requires HubSpot Enterprise - is about recurring revenue for Deals ARR 🙂 Amazing one, but not something we are looking for at the moment.

@ISmolin as far as I know, this can unfortunately not be done in HubSpot.

@karstenkoehler, thanks a million! Just to be sure that I got you right. Please take a look at the report below (historical snapshots - Sales Analytics that show only open deals with quarterly frequency):

Based on those Open deals with quarterly frequency, we want to see the sum of the Annual revenue of companies associated with those Deals. It will show companies' potential (size) based on their annual revenue in the account executive pipeline. So, until the deal is open each quarter, the company's annual revenue will pop up each quarter and sum up with other companies associated with other open deals in this report (I believe only historical snapshots reports or based on those reports we can do it as there are tables as well and of course, I can go one by one and create manual xls file, but it will take a lot without queries). Any option to use queries in HubSpot? Thank you.

@ISmolin the thing with the historical snapshots report is that it simply cannot be configured. It's frustrating because you're looking at the report and the data are obviously there. But there currently aren't any ways to customize the visualization further, change breakdowns, add calculations etc.

I have also encountered this issue, looking to customise Historical snapshot report. We track ARR or A.C.V which is the different field than HubSpot provides on those reports. Filters are good but doesn't get you what you actually need.

There are people doing coding and all stuff for this kind of reports. I think these should be now readily availble in 2025.

If anyone has done some workaround this using workflows, lowcode or api or anything that can be replicated, please let us all know how that can be done.

Thanks

We need this feature too. The historical snapshot report comes close but it's not cusotmizable enough to use a different metric that sum of amount for deals, or choose a custom breakdown. I went ahead and submitted the idea.
