How to allow a report to export contacts to a list

When creating reports on a HubSpot dashboard, my end goal is to be able to export those identified contacts to a list. Sometimes a report does not have this option (it's usually in the top right, titled Use in list ). Why do some reports have this feature and some do not? How can I fix it?

Hi Nicole,
By any chance were you invited to HubSpot by an admin. Or else are you the super admin?
In case you were invited, could you check with the person whether you have the necessary permissions in place i.e export permission and report permissions?

In HubSpot, the option to "Use in list" is available for reports that include contact-based data. If a report doesn't have this option, it's likely because the data in the report isn't directly tied to individual contacts. To fix this, ensure that your report is built around contact properties or activities. If the report is based on deals, companies, or other objects, you won't see the "Use in list" feature.

Thanks! The report appears to be contact-based, the data sources are "contacts" and "activites" , and the pulled data when clicking into the report is a list of contacts.

Any other ideas from there?

I am not the super admin, no. I am able to "Use in list" on other reports, so I just can't figure out what distinguishes a report from being able to do this or not

I think I cracked the code everyone! This had nothing to do with the settings within the report, but the type of report. When we go to create a report, my team and I gravitate towrads the "Custom report builder" option and go from there. It seems like this report type does not allow to use contacts in a list at all. You'd need to use the "Single object" report type, and this gave me the "use in list" feature once more. Yay!
