Creating a report that shows aggregated number of forms filled out by month.

I've been trying to create a simple report that shows total number of forms filled out by month for YTD. (Aggregated - just want an executove snapshot)

I would like to be able to filter off meeting link forms as well as some other oddball forms.

Currently I can create one the displays the current month and or year total, but not a month by month breakdown. And also these reports are granular showing each form as opposed to one total.

I keep thinking this should be simple... any ideas?

Hi @RayHoy,

Unintuitive as it is, that's currently not possible. Unless you set up a custom object to track form submissions, this can currently not be reported on. Yes, I know, it's crazy.

Luckily, the product team has already announced that form submissions will become a data source in the custom report builder – from which point on it will likely be very easy to do this. Until then, it's not possible at all.

Thanks for the update! It’s good to know that form submissions will be included in the custom report builder soon. In the meantime, I’ll explore other ways to track this. Appreciate the info and the heads-up!

Good news: There is now a public beta under Settings → Product updates → Build Custom Reports on Form Submissions:

Build Custom Reports on Form Submissions

What is it?

We are excited to announce the Public beta for supporting form submissions as a data source in the Custom Report Builder.

Why does it matter?

You can now build a variety of reports based on form submissions to understand how your forms are performing, slice and dice form submissions data and much more.

How does it work?

Under custom report builder, select "Forms", "Form Submissions" and "Form Analytics" as the data sources. Also select other required data sources such as Contacts, Companies etc.

Using the various data sources selected, pull the required fields.

Apply the necessary filters

Choose the appropriate chart types for your report.

Break down the selected data as required.

Now, you should see the report populated

You can also add the reports your dashboards.

Below are some of the reports that you can build:

Form submissions count over time

X-axis : Submitted on

Y-axis : Count of form submissions

Data Sources to Select: Form Submissions(Primary), Forms

Properties to select:

Form submissions count for a form over time

X-axis : Submitted on

Y-axis : Count of form submissions

Data Sources to Select: Form Submissions(Primary), Forms

Properties to select:

Filter by: Name(Form Name)

Form submissions count grouped by forms over time

X-axis : Submitted on

Hi Karsten!

about this line:

I applied for the beta and for some reason, I can only see 'Forms' but cannot see 'Form submissions' and 'Form analytics' as data source for a custom report, is there something else to be done here to access those sources? Without date stamps, I can only look at sum counts of form submissions, but I want to see the amount of submissions of a few forms monthly..

Curious if there is anything I can do about that!

Hey @CarlosvBoekhold - thanks for following up on @karstenkoehler's update!

Just to confirm, can you see that your beta status is "enrolled" currently? Additionally, I'm wondering if you've tried logging out and back in since being enrolled. Sometimes the system requires a refresh (although I'm not sure how long it's been since you were enrolled).

Hey Karsten, thanks a lot for this - it was really helpful to me today! I have one question for you though. I've created a report based on your "Form submissions count grouped by forms over time" guide, but it's only showing me form submissions for Dec 2025 and Jan 2026 - even though there have been form submissions happening for years. Can you tell me how to show a rolling 12 or 14-month version of this report? Thank you!

@MikeP1 have you checked the Filters tab in the report editor and adjusted the date range to your specifications? It might have defaulted to 30 days.
