Thanks for the tag @BérangèreL. That's a great list of resources for @CBowden.

I agree with @HubSpot_Corey on this. In short, it depends. What's important to your sles manager? Leading indicators like calls made and meetings set? Demos run? Or lagging indicators like Deals created and revenue forecasted?

Fortunately, HubSpot gives us a ton of templates to pull from (like the Sales Reps report collection or the dashboard for Sales Managers) and then build on. If it were me, I'd start with a basic template and build from there.

Hi @CBowden and thanks for the tag @BérangèreL

Designing a Sales Manager Dashboard that truly drives performance and engagement within your team is crucial, and seeking out designs is a great starting point. However, I often find that generalised dashboards tend to be used enthusiastically for only a few weeks before the adaptation rate declines. To prevent this, it's critical to base your metrics on data-driven insights unique to your team and company. Additionally, communicating with your team to ensure you're providing insights that they both need and want is essential as often, we get overwhelmed by all the things we can show, instead of focusing on the things we should show. For this reason, I suggest considering the following questions before getting started:

Define the Goals of the Dashboard:

What are your primary objectives with this dashboard? Whether it's driving sales activities, monitoring sales hygiene, closing more deals, or improving prospecting efforts, clear goals will guide your design.

Consider involving your sales leaders in this step to ensure the goals align with broader business objectives.

Identify Key Metrics:

Based on the goals, determine which metrics are critical and contribute to the outcome of the goal.

This can be done by utilising data from past performance (such as closed-won/lost deals) or brainstorming with your team to identify which metrics have historically impacted the outcome of the set goal.

Set Expectations:

Once your leaders have these metrics, what do you expect them to do with it? What action should be taken when metrics are out. By pre-determining the actions, you can help prevent your reports from becoming pieces of artwork on a wall that serve little purpose.

If you're interested in a more tailored discussion on your dashboard objectives, feel free to message me. I’d be happy to offer specific report suggestions and examples to better meet your needs.
