Sync and Property Fields

I'm working with the Outreach connector and trying to sync Stage in Outreach to Lead Status in HubSpot when syncing contacts, but it's not working. I assume it's not working because Lead Status in HubSpot is a Radio Select field type. If I create a custom field and make it Dropdown Select field type, it does work.

Am I correct that the fact that the default Lead Status property isn't working because of the field type?
Will I break other functionality by not using the default Lead Status field, or will I still be able to do everything in HubSpot that uses that field with my new custom field?

You are correct in your assumption that the default Lead Status property in HubSpot is a Radio Select field type, which may not be compatible with syncing from Outreach.

Creating a custom field with a Dropdown Select field type is a common workaround for this issue.

By using a custom field instead of the default Lead Status field, you may not break any existing functionality in HubSpot.

You should still be able to perform all the usual actions and workflows that involve the Lead Status field, as long as you update your processes to use the new custom field instead.

Just make sure to update any existing workflows, automation, or reports that rely on the Lead Status field to use your new custom field instead. This way, you can continue to leverage the full functionality of HubSpot while syncing data from Outreach seamlessly.
