Tracking Hubspot Deals in Google Tag Manager

Hello!

We are hoping to get support on how to track HubSpot deals via Google Tag Manager as well as Google Analytics. Currently, our website is receiving donations via GiveButter, a fundraising platform for nonprofit organizations. Since everything in GiveButter is self-contained, in order to relay information out, we used Zapier to connect GiveButter with HubSpot, and now whenever we receive a donation, there will be a new HubSpot deal created for that donation information in our HubSpot account.

So far, we have already integrated Google Tag Manager with HubSpot by following this tutorial post on HubSpot's community site, however, we couldn't find any information that helps us figure out how to track HubSpot deals in Google Tag Manager, can anyone help us out with this? Could you also let us know if it would be possible to track HubSpot deals in Google Analytics, once we've set up the integration following this tutorial?

Hello @Travelnitch I understand you're having an issue with Google Tag Manager. Let me clarify something - you wouldn't typically record anything in Google Tag Manager itself. Instead, it's used as a bridge to track activity elsewhere. For instance, you might use it to report conversions to Google Analytics or AdWords.

If your intent is tracking conversions (like noting the closure of a business deal), perhaps consider using Zapier, which should already be familiar to you. You could set up Zapier to listen for a closed deal and then send event data (such as the deal's value) to Google Analytics or AdWords.

Additionally, HubSpot allows you to create events that sync CRM lifecycle stage changes.

By doing this, the ad network will be able to optimize the delivery of your ads when a contact has been attributed in HubSpot Ads.

Hi @Travelnitch

It sounds like you are trying to record conversions in Google Analytics using Tag Manager so that you can see the total deals/amounts directly in Google Analytics as a conversion.

You cannot send HubSpot deals data to Google Analytics, but you may be able to use Zapier to send event/conversion data to Google Analytics. For example, you could use the Givebutter + Google Analytics 4 integration to do this, just like Givebutter + HubSpot.

Hello Martin,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, we have already set up Google Tag Manager with Google Ads to record conversions, but how we track activity for HubSpot deals on Google Tag Manager is what we need assistance with. For example, we already know how to track HubSpot forms based on this tutorial, but we could not find anything online that explains how to track HubSpot deals using Google Tag Manager.

Could you help us out with this specific issue and let us know if this action is even possible? We're also currently exploring Zapier as a possible tool to help make this happen (as Aakar suggested above). Thank you for your other suggestions, we will also look into them. Appreciate your help!
