    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.hubspot.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/756050"&gt;@ValentSales&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;the HubSpot extension for gmail has to be able to access information in the browser tab, from the research I've done regarding chrome extensions, the "Read your browsing history" permission is not phrased correctly for what it can do.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P data-unlink="true"&gt;Technically, the permission allows &lt;A href="https://stackoverflow.com/questions/64063754/chrome-extension-tabs-permissions-shows-read-your-browsing-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;observing the history via chrome.tabs.onUpdated&lt;/A&gt;, not to read the previous history of the tab&amp;nbsp;.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The extension has to see the tab's URL in the background to be able to load the script when the URL matches, this is the case for a lot of chrome extensions and the topic of many reddit and quora posts.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
