Basic Question about Mail Integration

If I want to set up mail (gmail) integration for another user so that their mail items get added to contacts/the crm automatically, do I need to do it from their computer, or can I set it up by accessing their mail account remotely? Thank you for your help!

Thanks for reaching out!

I recommend doing this from their computer as you will need access to their both their mail and HubSpot accounts in order to establish a personal inbox connection and to install the sales extension.

Thanks for your advice! As a follow up question, if I can access their
hubspot and email accounts from my computer can I install the extension
from my end, or does that need to live on their computer regardless?

It should live on their computer in case they ever need to access it, update it, or configure their preferences for logging and tracking. 🙂

I have another question regarding this. If I connect a personal email, will other people connected to my hubspot be able to see the activity that gets tracked from that within our contacts and compant lists?

Thanks for reaching out! I wanted to share this help article on using the track and log features for the Sales Extension. You can review email open and click information in the contact's activity feed; logged emails are saved to individual contact records and their associated records.

More questions on this (and thank you for all your help thus far). If my client checks their google email and calendar through apple, or possibly superhuman, is there a way to integrate so she can log her emails from those platforms (like the gmail/googlecalendar plug-ins)? Or arethose plug-ins at the server level so that doesn't matter?

My apologies for the delayed reply. We recommend creating a new post when a new question comes up so the Community can assist you as a whole 🙂

The extension can only be downloaded directly to an email client (Outlook, Gmail and O365) desktop as mentioned in this help article. It's not possible at this time to integrate with the mail app on an iPhone. That could be a very helpful feature though 😄
